2012 12-20 1320 Penn Dr MVA 1:28am : at 1:28am on 12-20-2012 West Penn Fire was dispatched to a MVA on Penn Dr. Upon arrival crews found a tractor trailer embedded into the embankment. The truck traveled a distance over 500ft until the truck dug into the dirt abnk in which brought it to a stop. Lehighton Ambulance arrived and immediately tok the driver to Penn star helipad for flight to LVH. Crews cleared the scene approx 3am.

2012 12-14 4:20pm MVA St Peters Rd : West Penn Fire CO #1 was dispatched at 4:20pm on 12-14-12 to a MVA on St. Peters Rd. Upon arrival crews found a 1 vehicle rollover multiple times. There was 1 person involved who was already taken to the hospital by a neighbor. All units cleared the scene within the hour.

2012 11-23 1:50am Working structure fire Schuylkill St New Ringgold (Hecla) : West Penn Fire Co was dispatched at approx 1:50am for a mutual aide call for district 55 (New Ringgold Fire) on Schuylkill Rd (Hecla). Upon arrival crews found the structure completely engulfed. New Ringgold Fire was assisted by West Penn , New England , Orwigsburg , Sch Haven (Liberty), Landingville, Deer lake, Hometown and Tamaqua American Hose and Citizens Fire both for RIT,West Penn Fire Police and New Ringgold Ambulance, and anyone I may have missed. Every volunteer is a blessing.. While battleing the fire crews were faced with below freezing temps which made for hazardous conditions. State fire marshall was called to determine the cause of the fire. My heartfelt sympathy to the family in the lose of a precious life...

2012 10-2 MVA 827 Pine Valley rd East Brunswick Twp. 11:00pm : West Penn Fire Co #1 was dispatched at 10:55pm to respond to a 2 vehicle accident on Pine valley Rd in East brunswick Twp. assisting New Ringgold Fire Co. who confirmed entrapment of 1 patient and only 1 vehicle involved. Upon arrival patient was extricated and EMS were on scene to transport 2 patients to hospitals. Medical helicopters were grounded due to the servere fog in the area. Crews cleared the scene a little after midnight.

2012 9-23 MVA 309 & 895 : West Penn Fire Co. responded to a MVA at 309 (West Penn Pike) & 895 (Summer Valley Rd) at 5:41pm. A car vs a motorcycle/scooter.West Penn Ambulance personnel attended to the bike driver who was flown by Penn Star to St Lukes Bethlehem while ambulance crews from Lehighton and New Ringgold tended to people from the car involved. West Penn Fire Police handled traffic control.

2012 9-15 Golf Tournament : West Penn Fire Co #1 held their 2nd annual golf tournament. They had gorgeous weather and 26 teams playing. Shot gun start was at 9:30am and a great time was had by all. Overall winning team was defending champions from last year. NEMF team... Thank you to everyone who helped, all players and also to all of our sponsors and all donations.... 2012 4-26 5:05pm Fir Ln New Ringgold, Logging Truck : West Penn fire responded with New Ringgold Fire as well as Orwigsburg Fire and Yorkville to a remote location just off 443 where a logging truck jack knifed on top a hill causing the fifth wheel to break and pinning the driver in the cab. Rescue workers stabilized the load and freed the driver.. Great job by everyone.

Driving his car safely up the road to a lot where he could safely pull off, he realized that the car had caught fire, immediately calling 911. 2012 2-5 Hero Dinner : West Penn Fire Co., Kimberly Frey and her family along with West Penn Police honored three men today who took the time to make sure Kimberly and her daughter were removed from harms way on Jan. 24,2011 when the car she was driving was involved in a MVA during an icy period and it had caught fire trapping her and her daughter inside. West Penn Fire Co President Larry Ziegler presented James Yaro, Duane McGrath and Terry Rothermel with letter of appreciation as well as a West Penn Fire Co Challenge Coin ( a coin which the fire co. holds for their members who go above and beyond) for their courage and bravery.

2012 1-23 Archery Club Fire West Penn Twp 7:43pm : West Penn Fire Co along with New Ringgold Fire, Mahoning Valley Fire, Tamaqua Rescue, East End Fire, Southward Fire, New England Fire, Penn Mahoning Ambulance and West Penn Fire Police were called at 7:43pm to a working structure fire at the Archery Club located on Archery Club Rd in the township. Upon arrival the club was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were on scene over 3 hours fighting the fire that destroyed the clubs main building.
